Matcha and White Chocolate Popcorn

Spilling the Tea Popcorn (Matcha and White Chocolate Popcorn)

Our better off single series of recipes, the ones you make just for yourself without any care for someone else's taste, continues today with our Spilling the Tea popcorn.

Are you a matcha lover? Is your go-to coffee shop order a matcha latte, matcha crème Frappuccino or dirty matcha? Did your ex make faces when you ordered it? Well, they're not here now so we're digging into the matcha powder as much as we like. We called the recipe spilling the tea because this is a great one to make for a good gossip session with friends. Tell them all the things!

Pop a batch of our sustainably grown black kernels that pop up white with a dark center. Then melt white chocolate and stir in your favorite matcha powder. And, finally, pour all that deliciousness over the popped corn and dig in. It's the perfect blend of bitter and sweet, like so much in life.

And don't forget to treat your recently single (or chronically single) friends to our Better off Single gift pack.

Our spilling the tea popcorn recipe is a blend of sweet white chocolate and the herbal, umami flavor of matcha powder. Drizzled over our crunchy popcorn for an amazing flavor treat.

Spilling the Tea Popcorn (Matcha and White Chocolate Popcorn)

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons canola oil

  • ⅓ Cup Dell Cove Better Off Single popcorn kernels

  • ¼ Teaspoon salt

  • 4 oz. White chocolate

  • ½ Teaspoon matcha powder

Directions

  1. Add the canola oil and 2 to 3 of the Better Off Single kernels to a large pot with a lid. Heat on high until the kernels pop. That will let you know that your oil is hot enough.

  2. Add the remaining kernels and the salt. Cover, continue cooking on high, shaking the pot often, until the popping stops. Remove the popcorn to a large bowl.

  3. Melt the white chocolate either in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir in the matcha powder and drizzle over the popcorn.

  4. Store any leftovers in an air tight container on the counter for 1 to 2 days.
