Why Our Mushroom Popcorn Kernels Are Ideal for Caramel Corn

Mushroom popcorn kernels pop large, round, and sturdy – making them the top choice for caramel corn, candy popcorn, and other coated popcorn recipes that need to hold heavy seasonings and flavors like caramel, chocolate, and even melted cheese.

Despite the name, mushroom popcorn does not taste like mushrooms. The term refers only to the round shape of the popped kernels, like the cap of a mushroom, not the flavor.

Dell Cove® extra large mushroom popcorn kernels are all-natural and grown in Indiana by small family farmers and friends we know and trust. Each bag includes simple stovetop popping directions to help you achieve consistently big, fluffy pops at home.

Ingredients: Sustainably grown popcorn kernels. Grown in the USA.

  • Flavor: Classic “corny” taste with a crunchy texture.
  • Popping tip: Mushroom popcorn requires high heat to fully pop round and fat. When popping in oil, heat oil to 400°F or higher for best results.
  • Best method: Pops well in our microwave popcorn popper. Air poppers are not recommended for this variety.
  • Allergen-friendly: Tree nut free, peanut free, and legume free (no soy).
  • Yield: 1 oz of kernels produces about 1 quart of popped popcorn.

HOW TO USE: To learn how to make perfect Dell Cove® popcorn every time, please read our tutorial here.

BEST BY: For best flavor, please enjoy your popcorn within 3 years of purchase.

STORAGE: Store in a cool, dark and dry location. For long-term storage, keep your popcorn in a resealable plastic or glass container and away from direct light. Intense heat and high humidity can shorten the shelf life of all grains (including popcorn), and lead to fewer kernels popping.

RECYCLING: Packaging material is recyclable. Get more information about our recycling program here.
