Tea cup and saucer - vintage Royal Ascot bone china with pink roses
This vintage tea cup and saucer set was made by the Royal Ascot company in the 1960s, and the design is very much of the time. I can just imagine a groovy Mom sitting down to enjoy a cup of Earl Grey in this classic bone china teacup set.
The background is a pure white, and the edge of the plate and tea cup are both gently scalloped and trimmed in 22K gold. There is a small foot on the teacup, and the foot and handle are also trimmed in gold. The thing that's great about the design on the cup and the saucer is that is so realistic: The dark pink and light pink roses and rose buds are surrounded by soft green leaves on both sides of the cup. You can even see little thorns painted on the rose bush branches!
Condition: Very clean and pristine set, with no sign of wear on the gold trim. Both pieces are in great condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs.
This cup begs to be part of a bridal tea party or wedding shower. A unique gift idea for any tea loving Mother, Grandmother, sister, bride or friend who is looking for a nice addition to a collection of tea cups. Or just imagine pampering yourself with a proper cup of tea on a quiet morning, or curled up in your favorite chair with a good book. Is there any better way to relax than that?
