How to Make Holiday Popcorn Balls

    Holiday popcorn balls recipe

Sweet, slightly salty and oh-so-crunchy crunchy popcorn balls make a tasty treat - and an easy to make holiday gift. I prefer using our non-GMO Extra Large or Mushroom popcorn kernels when making this recipe - which you can buy here - but David and many of our friends prefer using the Ruby Red kernels, which give the popcorn balls a very subtle nutty flavor. Here's what you need to do to make these....

How to Add Sparkle (and Save Time) This Christmas: Host a Holiday Cookie Swap

Easy Christmas Cookies - How to Add Sparkle (and Save time) at your Christmas Cookie Swap Party

Giving sweets during the holidays has long been a family tradition for us. But with expanding the business – and all the shopping, wrapping, decorating and travel we do this time of year - the thing I’m putting on my holiday wish list is “more time.”

I know you wish you had more time, too. So try this: This year, David and I are planning to “gift” ourselves some time – and have some fun – by hosting a cookie swap party. It’s easy (I swear) and takes very little preparation. Homemade Simmering Spices - How to Make Your Home Smell Like Christmas (By Using Spices)

How to make homemade simmering spices and make your home smell like Christmas naturally

My stepmom Judy is the one who taught me how to use simmering spices to make your home smell ah-mazing for the holidays. Making up packages of simmering spice blends became a favorite go-to gift for female friends over the years (way better than a bottle of wine...though, I usually brought one of those along, too).

We have a small batch of my favorite blend up for sale in the shop right now, packed up in some of David's grandmother's old Ball and Mason jars - it's a fun hostess gift! If you'd rather make your own, here's one recipe to try...

But beyond the glorious gourd, one of my favorite things to do this time of year is to create sweet treats for trick-or-treaters and our party guests. This is, after all, the time of year when candy is EVERYWHERE.

Autumn Apple Sangria - Fabulous Fall Cocktail and Mocktail Recipes for Adults and Kids

Autumn Apple Sangria cocktail recipe by Dell Cove Spice Co

As the weather turns cool and crisp - and nearby orchards are teeming with juicy apples and pears, ready to pick - I love being able to invite friends over to hang out and relax with a drink in front of the fire. This is one of my favorite times of year, when David and I cherish these quieter moments before the snow falls and the shoveling begins!

I've been inspired to create an autumn-inspired sangria - using the classic flavors that remind me of fall: hard cider instead of wine, Calvados and ginger beer instead of brandy or bourbon.
